I’ve listened to this CD so many times it almost feels like I know it by heart, even though I don’t speak a word of Portuguese. But it’s such a fucking awesome album that I don’t give a rat’s arse about what language it’s in – it just absolutely blows me away!
Take Scandinavian and Brazilian crust, mix it with some American hardcore, some Brittish punk and even some oi, and you’ve got a freaking raging album called Renascendo das Cinzas. I have no idea how they manage to mix all these styles in such a brutal way, and without it getting all messy. But it fits like a tailor made glove. It’s brutal as fuck, energetic like few, raging to the max and fierce to the core. It is just unbelievable! Your limbs start to move, your head starts to nod along, and all of a sudden you find yourself in a raging tornado, a one-man mosh pit. Unidos Pelo Ódio takes the brutality of crustcore, some melody from hardcore, a touch of punk/oi attitude and delivers one of the best albums I’ve ever heard.
Absolutely killer rough vocals, heavy string-work and pummelling drums, a heavy-as-hell and full sound, and some wicked tunes. I’m in lost of words here… Every aspect of the CD is freaking mind-blowing, and I can’t for the life of me understand how I could have missed hearing about such a marvellous band. If you don’t buy this album then you deserve a good ol’ kick in the nuts. Even the artwork’s awesome! And don’t be alarmed by the Portuguese lyrics, everything’s translated to English. A must have!
