I’ve never heard such a magnificent combination of 70ies doom sound and modern heaviness. This is really like taking the stoned-out, semi-hippie, psychedelic musicians of the 70ies and introducing them to the 21st century. It’s no surprise that the band thanks Black Sabbath and Electric Wizard for inspiration. Awesome rocking stoner riffing with a killer vocalist that really sounds drugged, and/or drunk, out of his mind. But in a good way, it first the music perfectly. The sound is thick and heavy while still keeping that rough lo-fi, DIY edge.
I don’t do narcotics, but I can imagine this would be the perfect album for an evening of smoking some happy-stuff. Since I’ve never heard of the band before, and their drummer is Guyome of the goregrind act Pulmonary Fibrosis, this came as a total surprise. Absolutely excellent!
