Crazy, chaotic, spastic hardcorish grinding from the Czech Rabies. I was actually pleasantly surprised, as I was not expecting this to be of any quality at all. Just the cover artwork for Rabies' side made me doubt this. Just a plain and simple butt-ugly picture! Anyway... As I said this is completely crazy - the instruments are chaotic and all over the place, but still under control somehow. And the vocals are insanely shouted, spazz. A very cool first impression.
On the flip side we have the Spanish crusty grinders Disturbance Project. Now, this was also my first time experiencing DP, and once again a very good first impression. A Fear of God cover, and four tracks of crusty grinding á la Ulcerrhoea. To tell you the truth, if I had just heard this stuff somewhere I would probably have guessed it to be an old Ulcerrhoea recording. Growls/screams, grinding drums and screechy strings. Me like!
