Both bands plays kind of the same way here. Fucking violent, ferocious grindcore. Let us start with HHC (yeah, that�s right. From now on Head Hits Concrete will be known as HHC). These Canadians are truly a fucked up breed. I have no idea how this vocalist comes out alive from the studio after a recording like this. Oh, wait. It could be that it took them 5 months to record 9 grindcore songs! Gotta be some kind of a record. Anyway� It�s violent, and it�s kind of chaotic too. The best way for me to describe it is by comparing it to MMM (you know it, MMM means My Minds Mine). Imagine a more chaotic version, with longer songs and a mad vocalist. The vox-guy must really kill live, he�s really screaming his lungs out while popping every eardrum around. In the insert HHC writes that they hope they can set an example of how people can work together for a positive change of this disturbed world, anti capitalistic, anti media and so on� You know the drill. This, I did not expect from HHC, considering their song titles. For instance �The pastor�s cock is in my mouth (Hooray!)�, doesn�t sound too serious. But if you read their lyrics it�s nothing like the titles!
As you read earlier I compared HHC with MMM, which was kind of a mistake from my side. MMM has got a more high-pitched vocalist, more simply structured songs. Although it�s still the same violent grinding that you have to sit far away from the speakers to appreciate. You have to play it kind of loud too to get the right feeling. Fast drumming accompanied by sort of hardcorish guitar and bass, and the violent screams from the vocalist creates this violent grindcore. These Dutch guys are quite popular too, but I think I prefer HHC on this one.
