After the great demo of Grace.Will.Fall I was really looking forward to see how things had developed. And things sure have changed, but not in the direction I was expecting. I thought they would take their sound to a much heavier and more metal influenced direction, but it's quite the opposite. The metal smelling hardcore of the demo is now much more reeking of punk attitude, reaching for the parts of hardcore where I'm not exactly well oriented. This makes the part of drawing influences quite difficult on my behalf. More old school, and maybe some Minor Threat. Though, at the end of Mindrape you'll get informed that they haven't forgotten their metal! Anyway, great melodies, well played - Definitely something for the hardcore crowd, at least it gets my body rocking along.
I pity the fool who hasn't had the pleasure of experiencing the massive mangle machine known as Counterblast. It's heavy, ripping, pummelling and fucking murdering on record, and it's absolutely crushing live. Nothing even comes close to measuring itself with the greatness of this fucking massive wall of sound, only created by Counterblast. Just imaging taking the essence of hardcore, crust, ambience, death metal and sludge, and jamming it into one band. Arrh! I fucking love this stuff!
