Oh, how Ive been looking forward to getting my hands on this split. I loved Erodeds demo and I was eager to hear the comeback of Paganizer.
Black empire starts off with a truly haunting intro, only to prepare you for the coming onslaught of blast beats, deep growling and raging guitars. Eroded takes the spirit of old school death metal, speeds it up like hell and adds a big-ass load of brutality. And the result? Furious, kick-arse, just bloody outrageous old school death. Like a punch in the gut, a smack in the face, a kick in the nuts, whatever. Enough said!
Paganizer took a little break in between early 2005 and early 2006, and this is the first material theyve released since they got back together. The two tracks presented here are shows an even crustier side of the band. Heavy, punishing old school death metal with a big load of crust. And the lyrics could very easily be interpreted as highly political, so maybe this is what Paganizer will sound like in the future. Either way Im not gonna complain. Brutal, fierce-as-hell old school. And theyve also got a hilarious sample in between the two songs. I absolutely laughed my arse off when I first heard it.
Plain and simple a mind-blowing split! And the 7 also includes a killer poster of both bands. Im gitty as a child
