I’m not sure I’m the right guy to judge this. I listen to a lot of punk, but almost solely Swedish. I find it much more pleasing. Can’t really explain it, that’s just the way it is. But I’ll do my best.
Dirty Love starts off with melodic punk rock, with emphasis on the rock. It doesn’t really do much for me, and I can’t say what bands might have influenced them. I suppose there’s a touch of the Ramones, but that’s as far as I’ll go. Sing along-friendly choruses and slick rock n roll riffing, fronted by clean female vocals. I mean, that’s everything I get from this. It doesn’t speak to me, it’s just there. Too melodic for my taste.
Destructors666 sounds typically British, but I guess it could also be ‘cause of the prominent British dialect the vocalist has. But it feels like Dead Kennedys meets the American scene, music-wise. A lot of rock here as well, but more like the early British punk agenda, instead of modern punk-influenced rock n roll. Quite energetic, and will probably please fans of the genre, but still too melodic for me. At the end there’s an untitled track by these guys, and the promo sheet says it “has swearing on it”. Well, I’ll be darn.
