I don't think I've ever heard of either of these bands, but I'm fucking excited about this release anyway!
And the reason for that is the totally killer opening track by Disaster, setting the bar for the rest of the CD. Monstrous deathgrind with cookiemonster growling, insane back ups, unrelenting drums and slick riffing. The slamming breakdowns and powerful back ups in track 2 just blows a hole right through my head! This is a bloody awesome band, and I'm absolutely loving the massive music pumping out of my speakers as I write this.
After the heavy dose of death mangle we get four tracks of spastic hardcorish grindcore. Elysi�m brings elements of various kinds of violence into their music, two of them being powerviolence and hardcore, and speeding it up to fit grindcore! Schizophrenic, panically screaming vocals fitting any of the avantgrind acts out there, as well as deeper back ups.
And now on to the metallic grindcore of Sickbag. Bringing in both hardcore and death metal in forms of vocals and string-work makes this a great mix of genres. However, do not be fooled - this is nothing but pure and utter grindcore! Classic grindcore growls as well as desperate hc screams teams up for adding that extra touch to the mangle. Awesome grinding!
Whew... I did not expect this CD to end with an assault of this kind. Older/newer schooled grindcore with a vocalist waking the entire neighbourhood with his deep growls. The vocals leaves your ears bleeding, but still you want more. Now, the sound quality's not what you'd wish for, which definitely doesn't do this music justice. With a thick production I imagine Desecrator being able to create an awesome recording, to be graced by the entire grindcore scene...
What else do you want me to say? Four talented bands + four brands of great grindcore = a fully satisfied customer!
