Brutal death metal the US-way, with a Swedish twist to it!
Strangulation's first demo, Carnage in Heaven, was a killer piece of death metal. But what dragged it down a bit was the sound quality. With this new demo they've evolved a bit. The sound quality is a lot better, the riffs are cleaner and they have their very own vocalist. For those of you that didn't know, Dennis from Visceral Bleeding/Spawn of Possession did some session growling on the old demo.
This is heavy and slick guitar work combined with good drumming and a brutal bass. The vocals are pretty much your ordinary growling I think, nothing really distinguishes him from the crowd. No band really comes to mind for direct influences, however Cannibal Corpse feels a bit familiar (although not as much as on Carnage in Heaven). I'm not at all surprised that Strangulation has got an upcoming CD on Nice to Eat You Records, this is some high quality shit!
