He, with a band name like Stench of Virginity, a title like Filled With My Sickness and artwork like that there’s no doubt we’re dealing with porn/gore death metal of the brutal kind. And as soon as the tunes set in it’s confirmed.
My first impression was that it was kind of bland and uninspiring, but I’ve figured out why I thought so. I’m not really sure about the opening track, it’s definitely the weakest one and maybe that’s what set me off. The remaining three tunes are simply put kick-ass brutal death metal US style! Slow, ultra-heavy churning, wicked riffing, brutal-as-hell bass, raging blasting and gored growling. It’s a pretty standard recipe, but it’s also very often that a band doesn’t live up to the challenge, but not in this case. Stench of Virginity manage to deliver rock solid death metal by far exceeding a lot of bands out there with several releases out. Since this is their debut demo my guess is these guys will have a promising future. The band name comes from a Lividity track, so another guess would be that’s where they draw a lot of inspiration from. Still not convinced? Well, the demo also contains samples from a couple of Lucio Fulci flicks, so you get your needs satisfied!
