So it’s time for the second demo from these guys, the second assault of groovy and brutal death metal. Something that strikes me instantly, that I’ve never noticed before, is the way these guys really reminds me of Relentless. And seeing how Relentless is one of my all-time favourite death metal acts, this aint a bad thing! It has the same groove in the riffs, the same grooving drums, only to break out into a grinding inferno, growling vocals that still let you hear the vocals. Holy fucking shit this is great!
Ahh… The guitar in the beginning of Your Bleeding, magnificent! If you want your death metal to be headbanger friendly, groovy-as-fuck with punishing grinding drums, thunderous string-work and top-notch growling and screaming – Well then look no further, Splattered Mermaids is for you. And the production is way better than most demos. There’s not a lot stopping it from being a real album. Except maybe the fact that it’s a CD-R and only 19 minutes long. But other than that it’s just as high quality as you’d expect from an album. Top notch!
