There are some really great Polish death metal acts out there, Hate and Vader to name a few. But whether or not Soulless will reach the same heights we�ll have to see.
The opening riff reminds me a lot of the Russian band Rest in Pain, and actually so does the rest of the song. A form of �psycho death metal�, meaning uniquely styled guitar playing and spastic drumming. But the overall result is still in the direction of US-styled death metal. A little bit of Morbid Angel, Deicide, Kataklysm and Vader, and a whole lotta intricate riffing, growling and tempo changes.
I have to admit that this is not a new favourite; I usually go for a lot more brutal bands. But this is definitely alright. I wish for more grinding outbursts, like in the ending song, Necromancer (a Sepultura cover). It�ll be interesting to see what these guys can do with a sufficient budget.
