Well this came like a breath of fresh air from out of nowhere. Ive never heard of the band before, by the looks of the CD I expected it to be a gory deathgrind album. So I had no idea this furious grinding crustcore outfit would smack me so hard.
The artworks very gory, which really set me off the wrong track. The lyrics can be fairly gory, but also takes up a more serious subject, namely incest, and also Christianity, everyday, monotonous life etc. So theres also some social awareness going on, which is very seldom for goregrind acts. Music-wise it is absolutely raging, grind-infused crustcore with a black metal dose. The latter one might not be very apparent, but at several occasions I find strong similarities to the French black metallers Antaeus. For the crustcore the traces I can find are mostly from bands like Detestation and Disrupt, meaning bands very inspired by the Scandinavian school of crust. But also maybe a little bit of Drop Dead for that hectic tempo. A mid-paced tune can end up in a grinding fury before it breaks down into a slower, churning inferno. The vocals is mostly a raspy screaming, sometimes a little deeper and sometimes a little brighter, but always brutal-as-hell.
Very energetic, and should be great to see live as its perfect for a troublesome moshpit of drunken punks and metalheads. A bunch of samples are also thrown in, sometimes a bit funny, like for the The only way to get to know Jesus is to get on your knees tune where a lady says take that book of Mormon and show it so far up your righteous asses that you choke. Hehehe
