Snutjävel - Ett liv i panik 7"
Genre: Crustcore Origin: Sweden Released: 2009 Website: Snutjävel Label: Räka Produktion Uploaded: 28.04.09 Snutjävel are back with their fifth seven-inch, which is the first one that’s really affected me. I wasn’t really all that thrilled about their first couple of records, but with Ett liv i panik they show a lot of progress, with a much fuller sound. Now don’t get me wrong, when I say sound I don’t mean production-wise, this is still a rehearsal room-recording. But the music’s come a long way in its evolvement, which feels ridiculous saying since this is so far from any modern kind of neocrust or whatever. Old school hardcorepunk, with its roots firmly in the Swedish 80ies scene. With that description I know a lot of people would think Anti Cimex, Mob 47 and such, but this is so far from it. This feels like a magnificent mix of early Asta Kask and the raging Snobbslakt. Hilarious. The rough, dirty riffing reeks of pure adrenaline-gushing punk rocker anger, letting the music do his/her talking. And with the pummeling drumming driving the music forward it’s almost impossible to not get drawn into the ferocious tunes, start your own private moshpit and thrash about your apartment. Add to that two pissed off guys screaming their lungs out, lashing out at cops, modernity, and even punks themselves. How can you not mosh? This is extremely energetic music, carrying the harshness of old punk rock, the brutality of early crust and even a touch of pure rock n roll. The opening track alone would be worth the price. They say we’ll never see a well-produced fullength from Snutjävel, but who knows… Asta Kask said the same thing and they left the scene with an LP. Tracklist: 01. Panik 02. Monstret 03. Du är död 04.
