This demo is a huge step forward for Slaktattack (for you non-Swedes. This is kind
of an interesting name for a band - Slaughter Attack. Hmm...). Well, as I said a huge
step forward. The songs are a lot better than on the previous demo Lagen Om Alltings Jävlighet -
much better drumming and riffing. Some songs are actually really high quality, like Verklighetens
Soldater that also has excellent solos in it. And for that song the vocals fit perfectly, but otherwise
the vocals can become a bit bland. I actually find the vocals to kick mayor ass, but it needs a bit
more variation, or better (and more) back up vocals, 'cause the back up right now kinda sick.
All solos fit just perfectly, and really enhances the feeling the music creates.
With this demo I think Slaktattack has found their style, this is how they should sound.
And after this demo they would surely be ready for a record debut - just a bit fine-tuning and better sound,
and you would have perfect material for a 7". You get seven songs of kick-ass hardcorecrust in the old
school of Swedish classics (no need for name dropping, you know what I'm talking about). The last song
actually reminds me a lot of M:Pati, and that's not a name to frown upon for influences.
It really grows on you, and I like it better with each listening.
