This is one rock n rollin’ crustcore experience Skitkids is offering on Besöket vid krubban. It sounds a whole lot like Totalitär getting high on a Motörhead injection. I mean, this is the most rock n roll I’ve ever heard on a crust album, and the strong Totalitär vibe is definitely enhanced since the vocals here are fairly similar to Poffen’s trademark screams.
Each guitar lead is soaked in pure rock, giving the tunes quite a melodic edge. The drumming however keeps it raw while the vocals gives it all a desperate edge. Everything is really skillfully done, and when hearing this it’s difficult to imagine crust ever sounding any different. They really manage to pull off that pissed-as-hell crustie that was born under the rock sign. And the lyrics sure lets their anger and frustration shine through properly, and they puke hatred on everything from right-wing jerks to rock-star punks.
It’s very powerful stuff, and if you like the two previously mentioned acts you will have absolutely no problem getting into Skitkids, ‘cause this is the most energetic and slick presentation of rock and crust combined that I’ve ever heard.
