This is definitely not what I'd expect to be coming from Self Made God. I'm used to hearing some of the most brutal grindcore around, but this is some high quality shit. If I didn't know better I'd guess this to be a US based operation, but Shackled Down are Polish, it just sounds American. Top of the notch thrash/hardcore crossover. This should easily satisfy any fan of DRI, Septic Death, early Sick of it All, Cryptic Slaughter, What Happens Next? etc. But I'd rather listen to Shackled Down!
Fast, energetic hardcore with powerful back-ups. Short tunes, classic hardcore/punk lyrics... This sounds pretty standard, but it's sure as hell not bland. Listening to this CD I feel like starting a little moshpit here by myself, in my living room. Bloody energetic stuff that really gets you going. And I gotta say, the artwork is something out of the ordinary. The cover alone makes you long for a sweaty cellar, moshing your brain away.
