Another issue of the marvelous Profane Existence mag has arrived, and this time it’s jam-packed with politics; more than usual. Articles on Attica, Marie Mason, Greenscare (etc), plus a funny interview-section with punk dads; pretty cool. But of course that’s not all…
Tons of reviews is a must, and surely you’ll find some here. And once again I revel in the recipe section, which has tons of interesting goodies for me to try out. Although I’m not a vegan, the recipes are easy to adapt to vegetarian ones. The interview with Warcollapse is a great one, and since I made a new acquaintance with Man the Conveyors on the compilation CD included with the previous issue, I’m thrilled to find an interview with them in this issue. There’s also tons of tour dates for tons of bands, unfortunately only one gig is even remotely close to home for me, but it’s a killer section. The only disappointment is that no artist is featured in this issue. I don’t know if it’s standard for them to do, but if not I beg of them to start doing so.
And well, let’s not forget about the compilation CD accompanying this issue. I haven’t afforded to purchase the new Mob 47 release yet, so I’m glad I got to hear a track from it. Sounds killer as always. But they’re not the only arse-shredding Swedish band here. Warcollapse (that actually contributes with an old song from 1994), End of All, Kvoteringen, Shades of Grey and Massmord joins in for a dose of high quality Swedish crustcore. My new favorite acquaintance this time around is Dogsholylife offering a raging and utterly dark crust tune. And once again we’re blessed with the brutal music of Man the Conveyors - excellent. It’s all killer… Except one. I don’t get the semi-rapped industrial hip-hop/ambient tune by Homicide. But hey, that’s me.
