Some good ol' thrash metal from my hometown Malmö. I've heard the name Origin Blood been mentioned several times over the last couple of years, but since I just started listening to thrash a short time ago (and only a few select bands), I never bothered checking them out. Well my fucking bad! This is some fucking ace shit! Top notch riffing, excellent drumming, and to top it of such freakin' killer vocals - Rough screaming mixed with some of the greatest clear male metal vocals ever put to tape. The mix between the vox gets me thinking of certain Impious material. And to be honest, the best way for me to describe it would probably be to take away the death metal and grinding in Impious, and it would prolly sound like Origin Blood. Of course Slayer also comes to mind, but that's a dead given. And at times also At the Gates... But the band that pops up most frequently is actually Metallica. Especially for the more melodic parts, and the vocals in Without, which is a pure ballad.
The clear and crisp production lets you get the true feeling of the music. As every riff, beating and tone is pulsating from your speakers with such massive mind numbing clarity.
A great fucking album with freakishly catchy tunes. And if that wasn't enough you also get a video to the title track.
