Hmm, that’s a weird-as-hell name for a band, but then again you can be pretty sure no one else is using it too. Crappy name set aside let’s get on with the music, shall we…
The demo opens with some chunky, fierce riffs and pounding drums (after a short annoying beep), and the whole thing just screams of old school death metal and thrash. Maybe thrashy old school death metal, or something like that. The chunkiness continues throughout the entire song, and the brutality takes a whole new leap forward when the vocalist starts his harsh growling. About 2 minutes into the song we get a pretty melodic guitar solo, but they sure make up for it as soon as the chunky riffing sets in again. The entire demo is filled with heavy-as-hell riffing, brutal and fierce growls and screaming and pounding drums. I expected it to be some form of experimental shite, ‘cause I figured what other genre would have a name like 49 Hydrögen Device. But I suppose the lyrics are what sets this band apart from others of this genre; I have no freakin’ idea what they’re about. Don’t know if they’re singing about aliens experimenting on humans, or what, but it’s weird…
There are some slight tempo changes every now and then, but most of the time it’s the same mid tempo throughout all the songs, and that makes it a bit boring after a while. And that's really too bad, ‘cause otherwise this is a pretty cool demo. It’ll be interesting to see what they can come up with in the future. And if they just work on some minor glitches then this band would surely be ready for a real release.
