You know what, when I got this demo I first thought it was cool since I remember hearing a few samples of it on the web, which I liked. But I had completely forgotten that I reviewed their previous demo, Promo 2006, about a year ago. So after refreshing my memory I realize that the two songs from that demo are also present here, in a refreshed recording and sound.
But not only the sound is refreshed, but the attitude and energy. I don’t find it as agonized this time around, but more of a straightforward raging crust demo. It falls somewhere in between the early days of Kontrovers and Konfrontation, and I suppose you know what that means; fast hammering and screaming madmen. Two lads share the vocal duties, but one of them has the tendency to sound a tad weak every once in a while, like he needs some more training to fully grasp screaming his lungs out without shredding his vocal cords. And while on the negative side of the review, I should also point out that the drumming seems to lag sometimes. Don’t know if it’s due to the recording or the drummer, though.
The title track (which also happens to be the opening track) starts off in a frantic manner, just absolutely spewing energy in all directions. The relentless riffing and drumming gets your blood pumping so fast you long for a moshpit to let your adrenaline rush out. And most tracks are just like that; fast and unrelenting screaming crust in the vein of said bands. But there is room for a dose of hardcore, which adds are more melodic touch to it. And I love it all! Unfortunately the band is on hold at the moment, and it’s uncertain if they’ll ever pick it up again. I hope they do, ‘cause a 7” would be cool.
