Intohimo - Pastpresentandneveragain CD-R
Genre: Hardcore Origin: Sweden Released: 2005 Website: Intohimo Label: - Uploaded: 03.11.05 Well this was weird... 13 minutes of schizophrenic hardcore, and when I say schizo, I mean schizo! As well as meanwhile sounding like The Dillinger Escape Plan's more brutal parts, it can suddenly change and become some very melodic hardcore on the verge of emo. But all of a sudden Intohimo comes off as kicking and screaming old school, to change into metalcore... Hehe, do you know understand what I mean about schizophrenic? Well, to further enhance the schizoid experience you get everything from clean vocals, to growls and screams in all possible manners - and often at the same time too! I'm not really sure how to interpret the lyrics. Some more standard like HC subjects like angst, standing up for yourself (I think, they're not exactly written in the most clear manner), but also some weird stuff I don't really know how to explain. So here's a bit from #2 - We have a poacher in our petshop. We have to make it end, we have to make him stop. We have a lady in our dress room. She has to go away or she will be our doom. Now what the hell does that mean? With all the weird-ass music and lyrics you might think this would become a tad annoying, and you're right. At least I find it to be a bit too diverse. Sure it's full of surprises and you never know what to expect, but it can be a bit too much for my taste. There's nothing wrong with the musicianship, it's wellplayed and tight. And it feels like the band has achieved what they wanted with this recording. Some really cool parts, and a couple of great songs... But still too weird for me. Tracklist: 01. The feeling of breaking loose from distant memories 02. Poacher in the petshop 03. Rise 04. Dead to the world 05. Sickness calls |
