Battle drums start the album and as it turns into blazing speed and the raging guitars set in, a scream commands you to incline your forehead to receive the sign. And judging by the lyrics Id guess the signs a goat-ridden symbol that might even contain an inverted pentagram. This is a re-spawned version of Hermh (as they where inactive between 1998 and 2003), with the vocalist Bart as the only original member. The remaining members are from various acts, some of the more famous ones that might be worth mentioning are Abused Majesty, Asgaard, Sacriversum, Artrosis and Dead Infection; ranging from gothic metal to black to goregrind. But the real issue to tackle here is what Hermh has to offer todays crowd.
Vampirism is a re-occurring theme for the lyrics, as well as death and armageddon-like themes. Music-wise they serve symphonic black metal, reminiscing of the later Dimmu Borgir albums, with a potent slab of death metal la fellow countrymen Behemoth. And that makes for a brutal album filled with mangling drums, churning riffs and atmospheric keyboards. But lets not forget the gnarling screams and growls; they sure make an important part of the tunes. Packed in a great production and an awesome booklet, theres not a whole lot stopping these guys. A video for the opening track Prepare to Revolt is included; a pretty gruesome bit that managed to get banned from all Polish television. Hermh proves that theyre still to be reckoned with!
