So the Polish newcomers Exit Wounds are back, and this time with a fullength. However it is a rather short fullength, as it’s only 23 minutes long. But I think that’s a perfect length, as it keeps it from becoming repeating. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not boring and bland grindcore that just feels like the same song over and over again. But I don’t think one could take more than this. It is ultra-brutal grindcore.
Exit Wounds carry on with the same relentless frenzied grindcore as they did on 17 wounds of exit, and it feels like a natural continuation. This is an album to put on when you’re pissed off (for whatever reason it might be), and just feel like letting the adrenaline flow. Although it is with risk of thrashing your apartment since the album is highly energetic, and can easily flame your negative emotions into rage. ‘Cause that’s pretty much what this is – a pure onslaught of blasting. It never lets go, and it just keeps hammering like crazy. And with those insane squeals and screams of Szym you can almost feel spit in your face.
Fans of Retaliation will definitely go apeshit over this. Exit Wounds take that extreme sound and adds a small dose of crust and just a tad of gore. This results in an extremely lethal mixture. Included are also two covers; one of Retaliation’s Things never change and one of Haymaker’s Another shit movie. And if that wasn’t enough they’ve also managed to create a booklet with artwork just as dark, stark and sinister as the music, and they present it in a hefty and brutal production.
