Ive had an extremely difficult time reviewing this album, and I mustve sat down on at least a dozen occasions to get started. But the end result has always remained the same what the hell to write
Torn from the womb is packed with powerful death metal, brutal and slick, but it still doesnt really speak to me. Its a tight, technical and skilled performance by these musicians. The tempo is never constant and the gruesome growls are raw and killer, with the occasional harsh screams to back it up. Add to that ripping chainsaw guitar solos and absolutely hammering drumming, in quite the thick production. But still, eventhough its extremely powerful and varied, I still cant get fully into it. Im not sure where to draw influences from, there might be a tad Morbid Angel for the technicality and a dose of Cannibal Corpse for the Florida vibe, but Decomposeds sounds way more chugging and with a much more modern twist to it. In conclusion; a great album that definitely deliver the goods but still doesnt fully satisfy. I think Id have a much easier time taking it to heart if the lyrics were included.
