I actually didn’t receive this CD as a promo. I had heard an MP3 of it and thought it sounded damn promising, so I picked it up from the Greek distro Nuclear Winter along with a bunch of other records. I was absolutely blown away by the ferocity of the album. And so I felt it was my task to review it so more people will hear about the power of Burial Hordes.
The anger, the hatred, the ferociousness in the vocals is unbelievable. Raw-as-hell, raging black metal screams, shouting dark, sinister commands of Satanism. And then we have the harsh, dark chants of worship to complete the indoctrination. Fast, pulverizing drumming and ice-cold riffing lays the foundation for the circle. The circle of power where the loyal will gather and raise the sleeping one. And he shall rise and lay waste the filth of mankind. At least that’s the feeling I get from this album. Every note is so stark and sinister, filled with such incredible dark hatred. Plain and simple an evil fucking masterpiece!
