The Bingo squatters sure is a difficult bunch to categorize. While they have this department of furious mangle, they also have another department creating and releasing pop and electronica, as well as doing some DIY comics. It all reeks of the 70ies “anyone can do it” aura, and it carries a strong sense of left wing radicalism. Now, while I’m not sure I get it all, I do appreciate Power violence aint nothing to fuck with.
It’s definitely one of the weirdest looking packages I’ve seen for an album, and the music’s not your everyday cup of tea either. I can guarantee you that Bingo will absolutely grind you into smithereens. It’s really energetic, and it puts a smile on my face, whereas most grind/hardcore acts piss me off and feeds my negative emotions and aggression. It’s not that Bingo aren’t pissed off, ‘cause they sure are if I were to judge them solely on their lyrics, but it’s just that it’s so damn charming and party friendly at the same time as it’s aggressive. They mix hardcore and grindcore, dosed with some noise and punk, sounding like a fucked up mix of Bruce Banner and Lärm, maybe even with just a hint of DS-13 and Operation. Short mangling bits with tons of guys and gals sharing the screaming, which offers a lot of diversity for the vocal part. And the tunes can just as well grind as hell as it can be moshpit and sing-along friendly. Extremely aggressive and furious, and I’m absolutely loving it!
