Johan Andersson - Promo 2002-2005 CD-R
Genre: Troubadour Origin: Sweden Released: 2005 Website: Johan Andersson Label: - Uploaded: 19.01.06 These six songs are taken from three different recordings, showing the development of a young musician. Considering he didn't learn how to play the guitar until ´00, I'd say the stuff from 2002 is really good. This is the guy otherwise called Domarn, whom can be traced back to the crust act Kalashnikov, but for this project he uses his real name - a pretty good idea! The two first tracks are (what I think is) lovesongs (?), titles roughly translated to Come back and You gave me wings of love... Those are the two songs of his first recording done back in 2002, two slow ballads. But after that we get some more rockin' tunes with political lyrics - more variation, more melody, and it's obvious he's more confident in himself nowadays. Har du hört...? really lets you rock along (as much as you can rock when it comes to this type of music) - snapping you fingers, stomping and singing along is not easily resisted. However, #4 gets a bit too simplistic, and we often encounter a problem he has throughout this promo. The lyrics are often too long to fit into the melody, and the vocals suddenly speeds up to try and get it all in there before the verse is over and the chorus kicks in. But when the chorus kicks in I still can't help myself, and I start nodding along once again! The last two songs are from 2005, and boy does it show he's developed more courage and confidence, but also a great portion of talent. #5 has such a kick-ass groove, and I just absolutely love that song - rocking, bitter and oh-so-groovy! Ending it all is a six-minute long, slow, agonized song - reflecting over the injustices of some starving, freezing and growing up in a rough and cold world, surrounded by wars. This is a great song, but the vocals go back to the opening stage - a bit rougher, scratchier voice... Not liking it as much as the cleaner one. I'm really liking some stuff on here, and I'm definitely gonna keep an eye open to see how this mans musical talents develop! Tracklist: 01. Kom tillbaks 02. Du gav mig kärlekens vingar 03. Har du hört...? 04. Balladen om kvällen som gick galet 05. Reflektion över det svenska välfärdssystemet 06. Där det finns liv finns det död |
