My first impression is that this must be quite the left-wing political band, as embedded in the artwork is Subcomandante Marcos, Che Guevara and Yasser Arafat. And when I open the booklet my suspicions gets confirmed, ‘cause inside is nothing but quotes from Charles Bukowski, George Orwell, Yasser Arafat among others. But since everything’s translated into Italian I have no idea what any of it means.
Musically this is not really to my liking. First off I’m just plain sick of metalcore, and when it’s the kind of meckish Dillinger Escape Plan / System of a Down inspired metalcore it’s even worse. A brutal-as-hell bass is pummelling like a bulldozer throughout the entire album, and there’s also a harsh and great back-up vocalist from time to time. But the screaming main vocals disturbs me. It’s just too much of the desperate “I’m going insane” type of screaming, to the extent that it becomes a bit annoying. But sure, the CD offers a full and thick sound with a decent guitarist and drummer. But I guess I just get annoyed by the vocals, and the title track just right-out suck! So there are a couple of cool things about the album, but most of the time I don’t like it. And the rapcore-ish vocals in Responses is just another disturbing effect.
